PROJECTS

   
  The Community Council of Prastio Avdimou, using the few financial means it can spare, has already delivered several infrastructure and beautification projects. Some of those are:
1. Replacing the community's entire watering network.
   
2.

Construction of a large community, including an old fountain, a playground, alleys, benches, lighting, a special area for the cooking of meat skewer, and an area for outdoor events.

     

 
   
3. Widening of all the streets in the community.
   
4.

Replacement of all the old walls with new ones made out of local stone.

     

 
   
5. Flood prevention projects and gathering of pluvial waters.
   
6. Asphalt paving of every street within and outside the community.
   
7. Registration of rural roads as public ones so as to allow the raising of new residences.

Continuing its efforts, the Community Council has scheduled the execution of the following projects:

1. A new secondary road from Avdimou to Prastio and from Prastio to Pachna.
   
2. Creation of a Community field with lockers, showers, and other facilities.
   
3.

Repairing and upgrading of the community's Health Centre.
   
4. Reparation of all the rural streets.

 

PROPOSED PROJECTS

  • Construction of access to the flat of Agios Ioannis.
  • Reshaping of a traditional residence into an Exhibition Centre, including the retrieval of 480 square metres of land.
  • Construction of shelters at the flat of Gerovrysi.
  • Construction of a linking foot-walk/path including the retrieval of 780 square metres of land.
  • Upgrade of Community Centre volumes.
  • Formation of heliport and upgrade of a 500 metre long agricultural road, including the retrieval of 14880 square metres of land.
  • Stadium upgrade by constructing stands.
  • Reshaping of the School into a Cultural Centre and configuration of parking places (complete study by the Community Council).
  • Construction of cobblies at the cores.
  • Reshaping of the streets of Archbishop Makarios, Gerovrysi, I. Theologos by organically linking pedestrians and vehicles.
  • Reshaping of Archbishop Makarios Street by constructing a pavement from the School until the stadium.
  • Reshaping of Archbishop Makarios Street by constructing a pavement north of the core, within the residential zone.
  • Retrieval of plot number 153 to be turned into a car park.
  • Retrieval of plot number 32 & 162 to be turned into car parks.
  • Conduct of a viability and development study for a carob process unit.
